Is the sky all that is
left to us,
or has that been taken as
well?
We cannot live, play, or
even die free—
Hell, we can't even work
freely!
Are we even free at all?
We cannot choose what our
money is spent on.
We cannot choose how our
laws are interpreted.
We can't even choose what
to do with our own bodies!
So for what reason do we
continue down this path of enslavement?
For what reason do we
choose safety nets over ladders?
What is the reason for
giving up so many freedoms for such insignificant security?
And what is the difference
between forced hand-holding and handcuffs?
There are those who dare
to walk the libertarian trenches—
In the pits dug by apathy,
alongside lunatics, knee deep in snake oil,
Those of us who are let
down, time and time again, by the people we wish to save
and by the country we want
to flourish.
Those of us who fight
alone against numbers far greater than ourselves for basic liberties.
What will become of us?
Of those seeking freedom?
Of those seeking real
equality?
To choose idealism over
politics
To choose freedom over
lethargy
To choose the right to
choose, over the right of automatic reward.
We are those who would
rather the chance to work for ascension instead of a free bed in the
slums.
We are those who would
wish every American the right to earn wealth.
We are those who would
sacrifice our political souls,
just so we can freely
gaze upon the sky.
We are relentless in our
goal of liberty.
We are endless in our
willingness to fight the inefficient state.
We are libertarians.
